ITIN Applicationsto confirm
If you need to file a U.S. tax return but cannot get a Social Security number, you need an ITIN. Generally, Form W-7 is filed together with a federal tax return unless an IRS exception applies. We prepare Form W-7 and the return together, and help renew an ITIN that has expired.
What's included
- New ITIN applications (Form W-7) with the federal tax return
- ITINs for a spouse or dependents
- Renewal of expired ITINs
- Checking which identity documents the IRS will accept
This is for you if
- You, your spouse or a dependent cannot get a Social Security number
- Your ITIN was not used on a federal tax return for three tax years in a row and has expired
Questions
Does an ITIN expire?
Yes. An ITIN that is not included on a federal tax return for three consecutive tax years expires and has to be renewed before it can be used again.
